In 1845 when James was 24, he first married Elizabeth LETTS, daughter of Thomas LETTS & Elizabeth STURCH (1794-), in Hayes, Kent, England. Born on 7 Jan 1821 in Bromley Common, Kent, England. Elizabeth died in Bromley, Kent, England on 10 Nov 1891; she was 70.
